Koh Chang is a wonderfully low key and wild island full of troops of macaque monkeys, huge hornbill birds, elusive pangolins, civets and mongoose among many others. The marine life is equally as abundant with dozens of smaller islands to the west and south of Koh Chang that you can explore by kayak or through day tours on long tail or speedboat. spend an evening squid fishing or relax on one of the many beaches with massage, snacks and cold drinks. Getting around is easy with a motorbike as there is basically one main road going north and south along the western coast of the island where 95% of vacationers head.

There is a small waterpark on the island within a nice and clean resort called splash that is great for families with small children around 6 and under. the resorts range from very basic fan bungalows to major resorts offering all the amenities. Restaurants/pharmacies/7-11's/beach shops can all be found in abundance along with tour agents offering trekking, snorkeling, elephant, fishing, etc... You can also use the agents to purchase your forward boat ticket if you want to travel to Koh mak or Koh Kood. The Food on the island I must say was not the most impressive but we did manage to find a couple places that we enjoyed and would recommend below. I would not come all the way to this side of Thailand to only go to Koh Chang though, try to include Koh Kood or Koh Mak as well as they are all unique.
